Terms of service
The rules for using Tsugi, in plain words.
01 About these terms
These terms are the agreement between you and Berzan Tas, a private individual who runs Tsugi (https://tsugideck.com). In these terms, "we" means Berzan Tas and "you" means the person using Tsugi.
You accept these terms by ticking the box when you create an account. If you do not agree, do not create an account.
How we handle your personal data is described in our Privacy Policy. It explains your rights, and you do not need to agree to it.
These terms are effective from 26 September 2026.
02 Who can use Tsugi
- You must be at least 16 years old.
- An account is for one person. Do not share it or create accounts for other people.
- Use an email address you can access. Sign-in codes and password resets are sent there.
03 Your account
- Keep your password safe. You are responsible for what happens in your account, unless someone got in through no fault of yours.
- Choose a username that does not impersonate anyone and is not offensive.
- If you think someone else has access to your account, tell us at contact@tsugideck.com.
04 Your content
Your content means the decks, notes and files you create or upload.
- You keep ownership. We claim no rights to your content.
- The licence you give us. You allow us to store, copy, process and display your content only as far as needed to run Tsugi for you, for example to show your cards and schedule reviews. This licence is free and non-exclusive, and it ends when you delete the content or your account.
- Your responsibility. Upload only content you have the right to use. Many decks and recordings found online come from textbooks, courses or paid decks, and copying them may infringe someone else's rights.
- Files are reachable by link. Anyone with the link to an uploaded file can open it without signing in. Tsugi never shows these links to other users, but do not upload anything you need to keep private.
- Limits. You can upload images (PNG, JPEG, WEBP) and audio (MP3), up to 50 MB per account.
05 Acceptable use
Do not use Tsugi to:
- store or share illegal content, such as material that infringes copyright, sexual content involving minors, or content that incites violence or hatred
- store or share pornographic or sexually explicit content
- host files for purposes other than your own learning, for example by linking to your uploads from other websites
- access other people's accounts or data, or try to break, overload or probe Tsugi's systems
- run bots or scripts that put unusual load on Tsugi
- create accounts in bulk, or a new account to get around a suspension
06 Reporting content and how we moderate
Reporting illegal content. If you find illegal content on Tsugi, for example behind a file link, email contact@tsugideck.com with:
- where the content is, such as its link
- why you believe it is illegal
- your name and email address, unless you are reporting child sexual abuse material
- a statement that you believe in good faith that your report is accurate and complete
We confirm that we received your report and tell you what we decided.
How we moderate. We do not scan your content automatically. We review content when someone reports it or when we notice a problem, and a person makes every decision. If content breaks the law or these terms, we may remove it, block access to it, or suspend the account.
If we act on your content, we tell you what we did and why, unless the law forbids it. You can dispute the decision by replying to contact@tsugideck.com, and you can always go to court.
Point of contact. contact@tsugideck.com is also our point of contact for users and authorities under the EU Digital Services Act. You can write to us in English or Polish.
07 Official decks
Official decks are decks we publish for everyone, such as Japanese Core 300.
- You get your own copy. When you add an official deck, Tsugi copies it into your account. You can edit or delete your copy, and your changes stay private.
- Updates do not reach your copy. Later changes to the official deck do not change the copy you already have.
- Made with AI. The words, example sentences and images in official decks are generated with AI tools, and the audio with speech synthesis. They can contain mistakes, such as a wrong reading, an unnatural translation or an odd pronunciation. If you spot one, tell us at contact@tsugideck.com.
- How you may use them. You may use official decks for your own learning in Tsugi. Do not copy them out of Tsugi to publish, share or sell them.
08 The service
- Tsugi is free. If we ever introduce paid features, they will come with their own terms, and we will tell you before anything you use for free starts to cost money.
- Tsugi changes. We keep improving Tsugi and may add, change or remove features.
- Availability. We aim to keep Tsugi running, but maintenance or technical problems can interrupt it. We cannot promise that it will always be available or free of errors.
- Shutting down. If we ever decide to close Tsugi, we will tell you at least 30 days in advance.
09 Liability
We run Tsugi with care, but as a free service without guarantees. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for losses caused by interruptions, errors or loss of content, unless we caused them intentionally or through gross negligence.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
10 Ending your use
You can leave at any time. Delete your account on the Account page. Deletion is immediate, erases your content as described in the Privacy Policy, and ends this agreement.
If you are a consumer, you can also withdraw from this agreement within 14 days of creating your account, without giving a reason, by deleting your account.
We can suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms or the law, or if the law requires it. Where a problem can be fixed, we first ask you to fix it. We tell you why we acted, unless the law forbids it.
For any other reason, we close accounts only with at least 30 days' notice.
11 Changes to these terms
We may change these terms, for example when we add features or the law changes. We tell you in the app or by email at least 14 days before a change takes effect.
If you do not agree with a change, you can delete your account before it takes effect. If you keep using Tsugi after that date, the new terms apply to you.
A change required by law may take effect sooner, when the law demands it.
12 Law, disputes and contact
- Law. Polish law governs these terms. If you are a consumer living in another country, you keep the protection of that country's mandatory consumer law.
- Complaints. Write to contact@tsugideck.com first. We answer within 14 days.
- Courts. If we cannot settle a dispute, you can take it to court. As a consumer, you can always use the courts where you live.
- Invalid parts. If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest still applies.
- Contact. Berzan Tas, contact@tsugideck.com.
